How do I know if I've been mis-sold? The answer is that it's highly unlikely you will recognise that you've been mis-sold your mortgage. Previously, under old rules, if a consumer felt they had grounds for a mis-sold mortgage claim compensation was up to a maximum of £48,000. This has now been raised as from January 1st 2010 and the revised limit for both home finance mediation and investments is now 100% of £50,000.
